About Me and this Website

â¤ī¸ A small nod of respect and admiration to the great Free Media, Heck Yeah (FMHY) wiki, without it, I might've never been introduced to many resources which are now useful in my day-to-day life. This website is inspired by it, and one other person, B[1].

Hellos! đ
For the record, I'm not that great at introducing myself, so bear with me as I try and fail making a slightly entertaining (?) introduction page. There's a lot of stuff I'll mention briefly here which I'll blog about later, but here's this for now.

There's no right way to boil the entirety of myself down to one page, but here's some stuff:
-
I'm a 21 years old Electrical Engineeringstudent.
-
These are some of my profiles:
Steam / Spotify / Letterboxd/ plutonists / X (Twitter)
(Seriously, who calls it X? I don't really use that platform much anyway .)
-
I have experience with Adobe Photoshop (Photopea is a nice webapp version), Premiere Pro, After Effects, Lightroom, Audition, and a teeny bit of Illustrator. I also like the FREE alternative to Photoshop and Illustrator: Affinity.
-
I like photography, curating, watching films, and sometimes reading. Photography is my outlet when I'm feeling unwell.
What's this website?
Good question (not really)! This website is a personal stash of interests; movies, literature, software, videos, art, photos, you name it. I've been wanting to make a personal corner of mine on the internet so I can MARK MY TERRITORY have a place I can dump everything I like into.
Notes
The N part of the name! It's any thoughts of mine about *anything* I can review movies, shows, software, books, talk about my own life, things I tried, things I *didn't* try (but want to), and endless more things. I can freely express myself here. My opinions can contradict yours, of course, but if you'd like to talk about it, feel free! I'm kind of on a journey of self-growth here; maybe you and I can teach each other something. Perspectives are important, and I want to explore a lot.Frankly, it gives me pleasure knowing that someone out there might be reading my thoughts and opinions on something. My style of writing is how I'd write a letter to a friend overseas (not like I'd ever done that!), and maybe you'd like that. I hope this place can serve as a comfy place to you.
Media
The M part of the name (surprise!). This is self-explanatory. This is *any* form of media that I like. Movies, shows, videos, art, music. This will probably be the most maintained one here because it's so very easy to just place stuff I like and walk away. I do want to avoid doing that though, and give opinions on some things if there could be a lot to say. Overall, if you want to find something new here, check back every now and then. You might catch something of interest.Other Stuff
It wouldn't make sense to have "Other" and "Stuff" in two separate headers...OK, you get the drill, the OS part of the name. This is where it becomes closely in tandem with some other wiki sites that give you pretty cool resources, like the aforementioned FMHY. What makes it different? Well, not much. I'm not going to sugarcoat it, this isn't going to be anywhere near as well-done as FMHY or any other specialized wiki sites, but I can safely say that whatever is listed here will be things I have tried and enjoyed as an average PC user. I'll be giving brief descriptions of what I liked about whatever's listed, which won't be as detailed as Notes, but they should prove as a sufficient idea for you if you want to use that resource.
"What if whatever you list is malicious?"
Any listed resource by anyone might be malicious, but from me, it would be purely accidental. Contact me through my email hello@nmos.me if you ever find anything malicious from the websites listed here. I will try my best to do some safety checking around the website, but either way, you should implement the following for any website you visit:
- Common Sense: If you see "DOWNLOAD NOW!!!!" or anything that doesn't quite fit with the website's UI, then obviously don't click it. If you find something downloading all of a sudden, obviously don't open it, just delete it and you'll be fine. Use trusted websites (mostly listed within FMHY). Use your head. You're in a sea filled with mines.
- An Anti-Virus: Windows Defender is fine for the most part, but if you're a bit paranoid like me, and can sacrifice a little bit of system resources, use Malwarebytes or ESET.
- An adblocker: Frankly, it's just for convenience (and meh, some safety in case common sense goes haywire). I don't want to find four popups of John Business showing me how I can get rich if I pay 4000$ to enroll into his course just because I clicked on a random pixel of the website. Always use Common Sense anyway, because adblockers don't always adblock. uBlock Origin is good.
I will probably make a Security đĄī¸ page at some point.
Closing Statement
I don't really have a closing statement. Enjoy the content you find on this website! Stay MOS-SY (That was HORRIBLE!).
